Well start of the season was not good for me , as you know rumour have it they spawned on sunday . Well I can agree we did not get a bite all night. river was very quite no fish topping even the ducks were quite. Spoke to a few people through the night the same there. But hey hoy just glad to be back on the river home sweet home :D

Fished below Claverton and blanked as well. I did get a few bites from bait robbing chub and saw a lot of wild life. Tired now but it was great just to be back hearing the sound of the river running over stones. may be we will get some proper rain soon.
Cheers,
Simon

Hi all,

Well as usual I got out round the crack of mid-afternoon. Christened the rod I built in the close season with a Barbel at around 3.00 and another at 4.30 ish. Both small fish around 5/6lb. Out again tomorrow, wish the river would clear still loads of colour :( .

Cheers

fished the lower river for a few hours this evening and ended up with a blank, new stretch for me and i don't even know if there's any barbel there but only one way to find out...
the river seemed dead as a dodo, stacks on fry in the margins but no fish topping and only half ounce needed to hold bottom in very little flow, horrible colour as well, i wasn't full of confidence as soon as i arrived and saw it, this proved to be the case...

managed a couple hours before work at freshford yesterday. no knocks or anything, saw a couple fish top, most likely chub. still absolutely loved being out there! i'm pretty new to the river game, and this forum :D , so any tips/hints etc would be very much appreciated!
anyway, tight lines and look forward to meeting some of you guys on the bank!
