That's a cracking photo Rob!

Yeah I think you could be right about Keynsham, but where! I have heard reports of sightings in the Marina, shame you are not allowed to fish it!

I need to do some fish finding!

THE best place for River carp around this area used to be on the River Brue at Basonbridge near Bridgwater.

There was a warm water outlet from the Unigate Milk Factory and I believe many twenties were taken in the 60's and early 70's before the outflow was stopped when the factory closed down.

No idea if there are any big Carp around there now. Anybody else remember those days??

No Nick ;) ... although the AA website states that the river still has plenty of them (and huge eels!!)

Yes mate - there are some huge eels in the waters around the Levels, although the little ones are a massive problem on the Brue - you daren't use anything meat or fish-based without getting a bootlace every cast!

I've only had one on the BA, first cast on opening day a few years ago, about 8lb, hell of a scrap ;)
I've also seen them in the pads at Avoncliff, but no monsters. You would think that if there were a few about we would pick more up when fishing for Barbel?
Cheers
James

I think they tend to hang around the places where we wouldn't bother to try for Barbel, James, although I agree with you in that just once in a while one would go for our baits when we fish the slower water :?:
