Hello Kaylum,
Why not stick with the bait you caught the 11lber on as you know it has caught?
I would say that location will be more important than which type of boilie you use with canal carp?
I have found dynamite baits boilies to be good in the past, give "the source" a go, good all year round bait. Good luck.

Cheers
James

Hi Kaylum and welcome to the Avon Barbel forum. :D
Boilie choice can be a bit confusing, to say the least with a vast array on display in the tackle shops...... :?
My advice would be to stick with seed and fish based ones in the summer, and fruity flavours in the winter.
Most of the manufacturers use top quality ingredients and test them for effectivness before sale, so as long as you buy a reputable brand of a high nutritional value, you cant go far wrong.
It's great fun, by the way, to make your own.........The satisfaction of catching a good carp on a bait you have made yourself is really something to experience.

Good luck and tight lines

Pete
