nearby commercials

"The Carp is the queen of rivers; a stately, a good, and a very subtil fish; that was not at first bred, nor hath been long in England, but is now naturalised."

Plantation has a nice big mixed lake I think it even has some still water barbel in it (im sure many on here will scoff at that lol). The carp lake is smaller but has some nice fish in it for a commi I had a low twenty out this week, that was my first time out for a good while so it was a nice fish to start the summer with. Im thinking of going Wednesday.

Would be nice. Can't guarantee it though - financially challenged right now, but if something turns up, I'll give you a shout for sure. Be nice to try out new waters.... and new anglers:-)

A little write up on Stait Lake which is on the South Cerney ticket : http://vincecater-angling.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/stait-lake-scac-on-swap-ticket.html
Might be worth a try?

Wow, that brings back memories. I used fish there in the late 1960's with my Grandfather - loved the place but didn't catch much. most importantly, there were plenty of tales of big carp which was a magical word in those days.

Can you fish there on a day ticket? and how is it fishing these days?

What with Windmill being 10 minutes out of Bristol, we gave it a shot last weekend. Blanked. Not even a liner in a 12 hr session! We went again today to give it another chance and my mate had one fish, but WHAT a fish!

After 4 hours we had had enough and so to plan B - an hour's drive to Landsend Fishery where we arrived just after noon. Mate bagged up on Roach, tench, a couple of small crucians, bream, and chub.
I took close to 20 common and mirrors all round the 8-9lb mark, and then this pb:

Good day once we got out of Windmill. Won;t be going there again until it matures a lot
