Ghosts in the night!

"The Carp is the queen of rivers; a stately, a good, and a very subtil fish; that was not at first bred, nor hath been long in England, but is now naturalised."

Ghosts in the night!

Took the opportunity this weekend to take our 9yr old on his first experience of night fishing. And thank god he didnt have to watch a motionless rod during the time spent there...!

Only 3 fish graced the net during the late afternoon and evening session but all where good quality fish, 19lb 4oz & 19lb 8oz mirrors capped of with this stunning (believe me the pic doesnt do it justice!!) ghost carp at 20lb 10oz... (not the biggest in the lake - but one of the best looking!)

Many times I have seen them during the summer months leading the pack as they swim around the lake with the group behind them... not remotely interested in any baits - thankfully this evening was different.

Last word - Stunning!

Sounds like a cracking 15 days Nick...!! Imagine what could have been if you had used carp bait ;)
(Looks like I will be getting some more bait then... :( )
